Dates and costs to know
Annual Enrollment: October 15 through December 7, 2026. During this window, people with Medicare can join, switch or drop a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Medicare drug plan. If your new plan gets your request by December 7, the change takes effect January 1, 2027. If you’re happy with your current coverage, it generally continues on its own.
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment: January 1 through March 31. If you’re already in a Medicare Advantage Plan, you can make one change during this window: switch to another Medicare Advantage Plan, or return to Original Medicare and join a separate drug plan.
Part B (2026): The standard Part B premium is $202.90 a month, and the Part B deductible is $283. Some people pay a higher Part B premium based on income. CMS hasn’t announced the 2027 Part B amounts yet.
Part D out-of-pocket limit: Once your out-of-pocket spending on covered Part D drugs reaches the yearly limit, you pay nothing more out of pocket for covered Part D drugs for the rest of that calendar year. The limit is $2,100 in 2026 and $2,400 in 2027.
Part D deductible: No Medicare drug plan can have a deductible above $615 in 2026 or $700 in 2027. Some plans have a lower deductible or none.
